ملخّصُ البحث

تُركِّز هذه الدّراسة على معرفة الجذور التّاريخيّة لاكتشاف واستثمار النّفط في مدينة البصرة، التي تضمُّ أكبر الحقول النّفطيّة العراقيّة، وأكثرها عدداً؛ إذْ يبلغ احتياطي البصرة من النّفط نحو (93) مليار برميل من مجموع احتياطات العراق النّفطيّة البالغة (142) مليار برميل.

لقدْ كان أوّل امتياز منحتْه الحكومة لشركة نفط العراق لغرض استثمار نفط البصرة هو في عام (1938م).

ويتناول البحث بالتّفاصيل قصّة تطوّر النّفط في هذه المدينة، وأهمّيّتها الاقتصاديّة، منذُ عقود الامتيازات، ولغاية 2013م.

ولذلك تضمّن البحث المباحث الآتية:

Abstract

The present paper focuses on oil discovery and investment in Basrah which contains the highest number of oilfields and also the biggest oil reservoirs. Basrah reserve crude oil amounts to 93 billion barrels out of the total Iraqi reserves that amount to 142 billion barrels. The first oil concession granted by the Iraqi government to Iraq Oil Company to invest in Basrah was in 1938.

The paper elaborates on the history of oil industry development in Basrah since 1938 up to 2013 highlighting Basrah economic importance. The paper covers the following sections:

1 . Historical review

2 . Basrah oil agreement and the developments of the oil situation.

3 . National direct investment of oil in Basrah.

4 . Oil fields in Basrah and Iraqi ports.
